how pink is really pink?? -Review by Devsheel Gaurav
Well let me assured you that it is really vogue to write a review after a great delay of time. In fact it's like writing a burial post for gone by things. Yet if you are reading it, rest assured that though the dish is stale yet the garnishing is fresh. Off late when I saw the movie, it was more of public opinion than self made decision. But believe me I am not those pals who like flicks out of hearsay but critically examine it through.
Pink as the normal heuristics suggests, is not a girlie movie. Had Aniruddh Roy (Director) named it court room that probably would have been better. As barring few scenes rest all the movie revolves around it. I often argued people as whether story is the king or the actor? But certainly in case of pink it's otherwise. In fact there is no story line but a small incident and unlike Ronit Roy's famous soap Adalat, they made pink. Ritesh Shah (the story and screen play writer) could neither justify at either front. Even he missed certain points that would have made it more vigor and appealing to the audience. Total timing of the movie is 2 hour and 15 minutes. Abrupt beginning of movie disappoint at first and audience start correlating things himself. High hopes die soon when despite the thespian actor Amitabh Bacchan, no great scene or dialogue given to him. In fact, in the entire movie there is seldom any dialogue but speech that almost seems picked up from Instagram or social media. Piyush Mishra seems in hurry and speaks so fast as either he will forget the statement or he had to rush for some other work. In the opening statement itself he shows all the cards and in rest of the movie he keeps on raising objection in the court. Amitabh Bacchan though starts with no cross, no cross statement and in the mid of the movie and climax renders emotional quotes. Tapsee Pannu has given only emotional space in the movie even though she seems gorgeous as usual. Andrea Tariang, Kirti Kulhari and Angad Bedi seems more like extra's but hire for few scenes only. The scenes of Court room are more funny than sensible. Judge, Dritiymaan Chatterjee seems so helpless that every off and on there is contempt of the court. And at the end of the movie he gives his verdict out of public opinion not on logical and practical grounds. Barring, Tapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bacchan and Piyush Mishra rest all just lived their role. Sound track "Kaali-Kaali" perfectly blends with background. Singer Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch did justice with song Kaali-Kaali. But despite the fact no sound track is so good that you will remember once you leave the theater.
