THE WAY I SEE THE WORLD

THE WAY I SEE THE WORLD

A famous story goes as 4 blind people got the opportunity to understand as how an elephant feels like. Each one chose different parts of elephant. Someone took trunk and formed his opinion as elephant looks likes a huge pipe. Similarly, the rest of people had their own opinion about elephant. The clash started amongst them when they share their opinion with others and none of them agreed to the others. Meanwhile, a wise man passed through. He saw them fighting and told them that it is not the entire elephant they noticed/observed rather different body part of it and that is how they formed their opinion. Though the story is old enough and so do with learning. However, people have a tendency to forget the learning and apply it in practical life. It is not the matter that the learning has forbidden but confined to mere a story only.

I personally feel that there are two genres of people in the world, one who has developed expertise in their field and another one who are blessed with modern day’s technologies and freedom believing that they know everything. However, none of them ever crossed by a visionary, a leader or probably a person with eyes. They all are busy blaming others and demeaning others. It has become very important to validate their point than accepting and acknowledging others expertise. The knowledgeable have decided their peripheral to their domain only. And the clash is growing day by day. None of them ever realized that it is mere a part of big picture that they have observed but not the complete picture. In every debate you will find that different experts are only sharing their own opinion and experience but not inculcating the different ideology and opinion. Politician, veteran, journalist, lay man they all are having their own opinion to share but seldom to learn and listen others. Besides, there is always a need of analysis the entire scenario, the condition before plunging to any conclusion. But here everyone’s views are sacrosanct enough to be discarded; at least that is what they feel like.

It has never been the issue as why politician and leaders are incompetent rather whom we choose to lead. It is us who believe that someone else knows better than us; he understands the situation and having expertise to find a solution which is other wise true. Besides, there are people who seldom participate in decision making and let others decide their future. Politician and opinion leaders are not better than quacks who promise to get you relieved from your problems. People should have their own analytical skill to foresee the bigger picture than mulling over trifles. Unfortunately, our education system does not a facility to nourish the multi-disciplinary dimension.

Probably, that is the reason Da Vinci and Picasso and Tagore never incarnated again. There is no place in the world for them. Had there been a truth teller like Socrates and Jesus, they would have ended up the same fate. The society never appreciates people having more than one attribute. All thanks to British for giving us adage like ‘Jack of all trades, Master of none.’ And will remain blind even though some day some wise man shows them the real picture.
