THE OPPORTUNE TIME

Once a king had thought to know about the opportune time, what is important to do then and who is important person. When it strikes and how he can identify it. He asked his courtier about it but all of them had different opinion. Moreover, none of the opinion could satisfy him. Meanwhile, a veteran courtier advised him to go to north and meet a saint. He has answer of all his queries. The king decides to meet the saint and started out with some of his soldiers. While passing through a jungle king saw a deer and expressed his wish to hunt. The deer was fast enough and quickly ran into the dense jungle, following the deer king lost his crown and his entire clothes town leaving scratches on his body that oozing out blood. All his soldiers left far behind and scattered hither and thither. The king was very tired and thirsty too. At once he finds a hut he moved near to the hut.

There he sees an old man digging a pit near the hut. He asked the old man to give some water to quench his thrust. The old man told him to help him digging the pit. Unwillingly king started doing the same. The old man offered king water and ointment. After a while, the old man said to the king that he is going to get some fruit from jungle. The old man returned with carrying a wounded person. The person was unconscious state. Both the king and old man took care of that person and went to sleep.

Next morning when the person regained his consciousness, he cried a lot and thanked to the old man and the king. He said to king that he is his enemy and after his life. When he got the wind that the king has decided to go in the jungle, he thought it great opportunity to kill him. But the king’s soldiers placed him and tried to kill him. However, his perception changed when the king and old man saved his life. He thanked both of them and left.

The king introduced himself to the old man and asked the address of the saint he is looking for. To his surprise the old man was the saint he was looking for. Then, the king asked his questions. The saint said, “Could you still not find the answers of your answers? Look around and observe the happening. Had you not decided to go for the search of your questions, you would not have met your enemy. And if you would not have helped him, he would have lost his life. Now he has buried the hatches and friends with you. The opportune time is when you accept the challenge of doing something, to take the responsibility of anything, a task in hand. The important person is one, who needs your immediate help. Giving it priority is the call of hour. Most importantly, one cannot tell you that what is right time to do anything, not even the biggest astrologer but you will to give the importance of performing your duty.” The king thanked the saint and took a leave.

Similarly many a time we blame our failure and others success as destiny’s role. But how many time we take the responsibility of doing something different from others. We only try to replicate others success without knowing the struggle one has undergone with. We wish to play in second fiddle, wish to have a safe, secure and most importantly tried and tested way to earn success. The only thing we are concern about is to know somehow the opportune time, the opportunity by following the ordinary ways to achieve it. Famous motivational speaker Salaam Chaus says, “if you keep doing the things you are doing the result will be the same that you are getting now.”

Even in today’s scenario when the Corona crisis hit the entire world, few people had an excuse to blame it to destiny when the lost their job, businesses closed down or they battled their life, Yet only few got up and took this as an opportunity to outperform from the rest. Examples are flooded with the cases when people defeated death over life, started new ventures, earned profits and so on. Remember, that there is no opportune time but you have to create it. If there is no door of success you need to create it. There is a famous saying, what you are looking for probably looking for you.

Famous martial art expert turned actor Bruce Lee approached many film producers but none of them agreed to take him. Then he wrote a letter to himself appreciating his acting skill and posted on his address. When he received the letter he felt motivated, framed it and hung it on his wall. This small experiment kept him motivated and his believe alive that he is one of the finest martial actor. Later on his first movie Enter the dragon released and he had not to look back.

Usually most of us use the ordinary ways to earn success and when the motivation dwindles we blame it to the fortune. Intrinsic belief system is more important than giving a push from outside. Everyone is blessed with different abilities and different skills, all you need to find your niche in what you are good at. Replication of others course of action will tend to get short term success only and what if things turned around. The same can be seen in the management style of Japan and America. Americans have houses made of bricks but Japanese make their houses with stones. Same reflects in their management, American believes that this is the requirement of organization and the person fits it or posses the desired qualities and skills is eligible to get the job. But Japanese believe that whatever skill and qualities one posses can be fit in the organization. Today the world knows that Japanese organizations are more successful than American.
