Who’s opinion really matters?

Couple of days back while browsing few e-papers and magazine I compelled to stop by on bollywood gossip section, where veteran thespian actor Amir Khan stated another bollywood celebrity Salman Khan as biggest celebrity and assured guarantee for success (indeed the grand one) of the movie whichever he acts. The most interesting part was the remark that he made for salman quoting, “Salman is a big star, and movies hit box- office cause of his name only. In our movies we act, dance, sing and do whatever director and movies appeals to make it successful but for Salman; he appears, shakes leg with co-actress, and does some action and movies become a blockbuster.” For the first instance I took it as mockery of someone’s (Salman’s) natural talent or audience appeal but later I realized the fact and importance of “what and whose opinion really matters?
For example before embarking a career in writing I was mere a professional, working hard to make both the end meet and sparing few time out of my busy daily schedule to devote my passion (off course for writing). However my initial effort was considered as time pass and I was tagged as Vella (a person with no work), forget about the appreciations and the feed backs from the readers. I approached to the experts (in my case, they were people/head of different departments, university scholars, doctorate and literature expert and sinister). The feed backs and suggestions made me realized that I landed a wrong job and perhaps I have a passion for stupid thing, some of them even gone beyond and named it infatuation (my infatuation for writing, sound nice no?). However my deep introspection generated the insight as to why people did not like my write-ups?
And the wonder I am going to share was OPINION GROUP. Similar to you I also stranded as how the opinion can defy the actual result. Coming back to the real concern and the asymmetrical correlation of my passion and bollywood I would like to prolong it a little more. For example some movies hit box-office where as some fails unlike the opinion and views expressed by critiques and opinion surveys because the concept, theme story and most importantly the urge is natural other than the sci-fi movies where everything you can see or imagine take you to the end of your wit.  So do with writing and other creative work; one need not to falsifying the fact, glorification and magnificent picture cannot always take audience’s imagination to the desired place (where they are expected to reach). It took me as many as thrice effort to understand and realize what “MATRIX” movie is all about. At first instance I had almost rejected it when I could not understand the essence of it. Later on I questioned myself does my write-up/ stories have the same temperament? Are they beyond the comprehension of readers? Do they believe that it’s mere my writing skill and communication which I am willing to flaunt of? Once again I approached to the experts and worked hard to prepare my next story yet again I failed. The very next thing came into my mind is to write what people like rather what expert suggests. The experiment went successful; people not only commended my work but recommended to others as well. Similar to salman khan’s movie and my writing (indeed no pun intended), one need to be original, natural and most importantly a person or story of common interest (in short being human) to mark its presence and make it successful.
One small piece of advice, people don’t buy something because it is great but the sense of gratification they receive or perceive out of it.

P.S.:- I hope Salman will forgive me for comparing me with him. I know sir you are really generous and indeed a great human.
